After breakfast at your hotel, your driver and guide will meet you in the lobby. Escape the bustling streets of Saigon and head to Ben Tre, a peaceful riverside town in the Mekong Delta, known for its lush coconut groves and tranquil rural life.
Upon arrival at Hung Vuong Pier, embark on a boat trip along the Tien River, a tributary of the mighty Mekong. As you cruise past mangrove-lined banks, observe the vibrant morning activities—local fishermen at work, coconut-laden cargo boats, and riverside villages coming to life. Stop at a traditional brickwork to see handmade brick-making techniques still in practice today. Continue your boat ride, turning onto the Cai Son Canal, where you’ll wind through dense coconut jungles. Visit a coconut-processing workshop, witnessing every stage of production, from husking to peeling, all done by hand. Next, visit a local home, where you’ll learn about beekeeping and enjoy a warm cup of honey tea. Walk along the canal to a coconut candy workshop, watch artisans craft the sweets by hand, and taste some fresh samples. Enjoy tropical fruits while listening to traditional Vietnamese music performed by locals. Stop at a sleep mat weaving house, where skilled villagers handcraft traditional straw mats. Then, hop on a Xe Lôi, a motorized rickshaw, for a scenic ride through the countryside, soaking in the serene rural landscapes. Enjoy a delicious local lunch at a riverside restaurant, savoring the authentic flavors of the Mekong Delta. After lunch, take a short cycling tour through the surrounding fields, experiencing the peaceful pace of life in Ben Tre. Before heading back, visit the Ben Tre local market, where you can browse for fresh produce and local specialties. Then, board your vehicle for the return journey to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving in the late afternoon.
